Josiah Neeley and Razib Khan discuss the week in politics, current events and culture.

Razib Khan is a geneticist and writer. Born in Bangladesh, he grew up in upstate New York and Oregon, and lived in California before moving to Austin, Texas, where he currently resides.

He is a co-founder of GenRAIT, a deep tech company that deploys a platform for the life sciences. With over ten years in the genomics space, he has developed ancestry algorithms for Gene By Gene, The Genographic Project and Insitome. Razib was also one of the first employees at Embark Veterinary.

He currently advises Boltzmann AI, DeepNewz and Dry.ai and writes the Substack Unsupervised Learning.

Razib has also written for publications that include Palladium Magazine, The New York Times, City Journal, National ReviewSlate, Unherd, Quillette and Nautilus.


Josiah Neeley advises the institute’s Energy team, which works to advance a well-defined and limited role for government in shaping decisions about infrastructure, wholesale and retail electricity, research and development, fuel choice and diversity, and climate adaptation and mitigation. He also leads the institute’s work on legislation and issues affecting Texas.

Josiah previously served as a policy analyst for the Center for Tenth Amendment Studies and the Armstrong Center for Energy & the Environment at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Before his work at TPPF, Josiah was an associate specializing in constitutional litigation with the law firm of Bopp, Coleson & Bostrom in Terre Haute, Indiana and clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Roger Vinson in Pensacola, Florida.
